Ron McKinnon has been an advocate for Coquitlam – Port Coquitlam with a proven record of community service. Before politics, he was a computer programmer, raising his two daughters, Kathrine and Sarah, here in Port Coquitlam alongside his wife, Christine.

 

Ron has shown his deep passion and determination to make life better for families in the community. In fact, in his first term as a Member of Parliament, Ron put forth in front of the parliament and passed the Good Samaritan Drug Overdose Act that continues to save lives.

As the Liberal Candidate for Coquitlam – Port Coquitlam, Ron understands what it takes to create good jobs, support the people, families and small businesses in the community and build a better future for everyone. Now he is committed to working with Mark Carney to invest in our middle class and those working hard to join it, grow an economy that works for everyone, protect a clean environment, and keep Canada moving forward. 

 

Born and raised in Red Deer, Alberta, Ron has deep roots in cities that feel like communities, where everyone looks out for one another. He has a unique understanding of Coquitlam – Port Coquitlam, and he will continue to be a hardworking Member of Parliament, representing the community's interests in Ottawa. 

 

Ron has seen firsthand the opportunities and challenges that middle-class families face every day, and he understands the priorities of his community. He has worked with all levels of government to be able to advocate for and deliver investments in low-income housing, revitalization of community parks, outdated infrastructure as well as jobs in the community through programs such as Canada Summer Jobs.

 

The families of Coquitlam and Port Coquitlam need a trusted voice in government who will be a champion for a stronger middle class and help build an economy that works for all Canadians.
